Have you lost creativity when it comes to cooking at home? Tired of the same rotation? Or not sure where to start? We all have been there!
It's easy to get in a rut with meal planning, making the same things over and over. This isn't necessarily a bad thing! It can help you stay consistent and actually make a meal plan. However, it can also create boredom at mealtime, making you less likely to want to cook or enjoy cooking at home.

Today, I'm sharing some tips for being more successful with a consistent meal plan. You don't have to sit down for an hour or more to search for recipes.
Tips for a Successful Meal Plan:
Add one or two new recipes to try every few months. When I have the time to find new recipes or review the ones I have collected, I make a list and save it for later.
Find a few food bloggers or meal preparation brands to follow and save recipes that interest you! I have recipes bookmarked in my browser and a collection created in Instagram.
Pick recipes with common ingredients. I add variety to the foods I feed my family, so we all have well-rounded taste buds and exposure to a variety of flavors. But each week, I try to keep the ingredients similar. This helps with my grocery shopping, food preparation and simplifies my cooking each week. Try to find a list of what is in season, then search for those recipe types. Several food bloggers have monthly round-ups of what to cook each month or weekly suggested recipes, which are helpful to reference. Treat yourself to a new cookbook and plan some new meals for a while. Call me old-fashioned, but I like getting a physical book. They are so pretty, and they are among my favorite recipes. I plan to share some of my favorite cookbooks this year — stay tuned!
Make sure you plan rest days so you aren't cooking every day! How much of each recipe you prepare is important. Think about how easy it is to double or even triple a recipe when you are planning. This will save you time and stress during your week. All our curated plans include rest days, and you will use leftovers. Buy a curated meal plan or follow a meal plan from your favorite blogger. You don't have to follow them all the time, but these resources can help spark creativity! Use a plan once, twice or however many times you want. Then save your favorites to add to your rotation later.
Creating and sticking to a meal plan for your family doesn't need to be complicated. Well Fed Co. would love to help you get started! We offer both custom meal planning and curated meal plan options.
